It was my special treat to take the Channelview Teen Challenge Ladies shopping on Wednesday for Christmas gifts for their children. All this made possible by the awesome GIVING people of CT Church! They all had a wonderful time picking out each item at WalMart and were in tears expressing their “thanks” for CT making this possible for them. Most of the ladies will be able to spend Christmas day with their families and personally give the gifts that they picked out for their children. Here are a few photos of the ladies at WalMart.
THANK YOU CT FAMILY! ~ Susan Nordin

Fail not to call to mind, in the course of the twenty-fifth of this month, that the Divinest Heart that ever walked the earth was born on that day; and then smile and enjoy yourselves for the rest of it; for mirth is also of Heaven’s making. The gift of love. The gift of peace. The gift of happiness. May all these be yours at Christmas.
Merry Christmas,
Pastors Don & Susan Nordin

THANK YOU!!!!
Those two words seem so inadequate to express my gratitude for all that you have done to make this outreach during the aftermath of Hurricane Ike a huge success. You are all amazing people and I thank you for your compassionate spirit and heart. You were Jesus with skin on this past week! I pray that each of you receive blessings on top of blessings and favor on top of favor for your giving spirit that you displayed this week. I love you and it is a JOY to serve with you!

Hello Everyone: It is 6:15 PM 09/21/08. Today: 4,784 families received food, water and ice… We cleaned the yards of two families… We served three hot meals to more than 200 volunteers…
Thanks to the following people: Convoy of Hope… FEMA…Teen Challenge of Texas…
Hill Country Camp (Whom I failed to mention in previous e-mails! My apologies, it was an honest oversight! I should have remembered, I did not have anything else to do… LOL… They are my friends, they will forgive me!), and Guardian Angels…
Teams of workers arrived today to begin drying out the Sanctuary building here at CT… PRAISE GOD…
We still have no electricity at the church, we are powering the Family Life Center with generators so that we can use it to house and feed workers as well as some much needed warehouse space. We will continue serving people tomorrow.
What we need most are FUNDS and WORKERS. You can give online at www.ctchurch.tv and we are prepared to host teams as we are powering our Family Life Center with generators and providing three hot meals a day to our workers. If you want to send a team please call Phil at 830-370-5364.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: We sent up a helicopter to get video footage of the disaster and also to film our outreach efforts and there are now two new videos for you to view on our web site at www.ctchurch.tv Also, you can view our photographs at http://s359.photobucket.com/albums/oo34/ctchurch/?albumview=grid
Enough for now… IF YOU WOULD NOT LIKE TO CONTINUE RECEIVING THESE UPDATES PLLLLLLLLEASE LET ME KNOW.
Thank you,
CT Church has ready volunteers to help you with storm debris removal and clean-up of your property. If you need help, please post a comment on this blog or call the church office @ 713.944.4815. Request will be done in chronological order unless the request is life threatening or your home is uninhabitable. Thank you and God Bless!

CT Church has now become a POD (Point of Distribution) center for Convoy of Hope. We will be distributing water, ice and food each day beginning Wednesday morning, September 17th at 10AM and will continue each day as long as Convoy of Hope sends supplies in. At the posting of this blog, Convoy Of Hope is scheduled to come in through Friday of this week with the possibility of continuing into next week until the city no longer needs them to send in supplies.
We need EVERYONE’S help in bagging these groceries and distributing them. If you are able to help with this outreach, please report to the Gym at 7AM on Wednesday, September 17th.
Thank you for helping in this outreach to the community during this devastating time!
Pastors Don & Susan Nordin
CT Church would like to know your status from the effects of Hurricane Ike. Did you evacuate? Are you at home? Did your property sustain damage? Are you OK? Please post your comments to this blog. The blog is checked several times a day.Thank you & God Bless You!

Some of you may be aware that I love to scrapbook! When the Health
Fair was over I put together some pics in an online digital scrapbook
and wanted to share it with all of you. I hope you enjoy! Susan

One of our more popular Vendors this year was, of course the School Uniforms. This is a great shot of the long lines. We were supposed to close at 1PM but we stayed open until after 4PM with the Uniform line until everyone was served!
THANK YOU - Lorri Roettgers and your awesome team of volunteers!

The long lines at Registration & School Supplies! Thank you Roy & your awesome team at Registration….and Peggy Murphy & your awesome school supplies team!

Thank You Dan Clark & the CONVOY OF HOPE team for providing over 30,000 pounds of groceries!
Thank you for making a difference in our community, church and the Kingdom of God on Saturday at the Health Fair. Only eternity will tell of the impact you have made by giving of your time, talents and monetary gifts! We could not have done this great out reach without you. This year we had a record attendance of 4710 not counting staff, volunteers & vendors. Thanks a million for being such a wonderful group of people with a heart for God and others! God bless you for your faithfulness!

Around 4PM, Pastor took this sign out by the road and vehicles began turning in to receive the left over groceries from Convoy of Hope. It looked like a mini Health Fair all over again! People filled their cars and trucks with the bags of groceries. We loaded a bus, truck and trailer and took more to Teen Challenge.
What an awesome day! What an awesome group of people you are to serve with.
Love you all!
Pastor Susan

My family and I have been vacationing on beautiful Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas. A friend of ours owns a lake house here and blessed us by allowing our family to use it for ten days. We are G-R-E-A-T-L-Y enjoying some much needed rest and relaxation. I am posting some pictures for your enjoyment: The first picture is of me pulling Larissa on a tube and the second picture is of Jason providing the nightly entertainment. We look forward to seeing all of you very soon.
Pastor Don Nordin
My family took me out for dinner on Thursday evening for my “30-something” birthday. We went to the Colorado Grill. The food was delicious but being with my family was the best. This picture is of me, Kim & Larissa at the restaurant. We have enjoyed our vacation here at Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs. There is nothing more relaxing than being near the water.

This past Sunday was Father’s Day - and what a Father’s Day it was at CT Church! My dad and my son joined with me to preach a sermon entitled “Where Have All the Heroes Gone?” I thought Jason and Dad knocked the ball out of the park! Wow! Was I proud!! I greatly appreciate the way the people of CT welcomed and loved on my family! You are the G-R-E-A-T-E-S-T! You can catch the sermon on the podcast from our website at www.ctchurch.tv/audio/6-15-08_heroes.mp3 Let me hear your comments by responding to this blog.
Sunday May 25th, was a very important day in the life of CT Church. We joined together to dedicate the newly remodeled
Bro. Granberry, our District Superintendent spoke a powerful word and God confirmed His Word by bringing two people to faith in Christ, as well as two individuals being gloriously baptized in the Holy Spirit. In addition, many people who were discouraged were ministered to through the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Pastor Don
We wanted you to meet the latest addition to our family. Please meet “Gracie,” a 3 pound Teacup Yorkie. We adopted her recently from some friends in Arkansas. She is adorable.
